Abstract

“Inventory of Pests on Salak Plant (Salacca edulis, Reinw) in Kanagarian Tanjuang Baringin Kecamatan Lubuk Sikaping Kabupaten Pasaman". Salak plants (Salacca edulis, Reinw) is one of the plants that can grow fertile on loose soil conditions. Salak (Salacca edulis, Reinw), Palmae family is native to Indonesia. Although salak can grow and develop in the lowlands to a height of 90 meters above sea level. Lubuk Sikaping has some very favorable garden yields and interest from people outside the region. One of them is salak mangguang. As the name of salak mangguang come from Muaro Mangguang area, Nagari Tanjuang Baringin, Lubuk Sikaping District. The purpose of the research is to know what are the types of pests of salak plants (Salacca edulis, Reinw) containe in Kanagarian Tanjuang Baringin Lubuk Sikaping District. This research was conducted from March to May 2017. The research is the types of pests in Salak plants (Salacca edulis, Reinw) in Kanagarian uses survey methodby taking samples of pests in salak plants and also conducting interviews directly to 15 farmers, in Two jorong in Kanagarian Tanjuang Baringin Kecamatan Lubuk Sikaping. The result of this research is there are four types of pests in salak plants, from the four types are grouped into two groups insects: borer stem borer (Cosmopolites sordidus), caterpillar salak, Fortitula auricularia. And from the group of mammals namely: Squirrel (Tupaia Sp.).
