Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Peserta Didik Melalui Model Pembelajaran Discovery Learning pada Mata Pelajaran IPS Materi Interaksi Sosial di Kelas VII

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the discovery learning model to improve student learning outcomes in social studies subjects at VII.4 SMP Negeri 2 Kapur IX District. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research was carried out based on classroom action research steps with two cycles starting from the planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. Research data in the form of test results, observations of teacher and student activities, field notes, and documentation of each learning improvement action. Data were obtained from, namely teachers and students of class VII.4 SMP Negeri 2 Kapur IX District, totaling 18 people, which was carried out from October 21 to November 4, 2020. The results of research data analysis showed that the use of discovery learning models could improve student learning outcomes. This can be seen from the average learning outcomes of students in the knowledge aspect which has increased, namely 66.44 before using the discovery learning model, increasing to 72.22 in the first cycle, increasing again to 82.22 in the second cycle. The learning outcomes of the skills aspect obtained an average of 66.68 before using the discovery learning model increased to 72.61 in the first cycle and increased again to 82.67 in the second cycle. Based on the results of this study, the conclusions of classroom action research using the discovery learning model in social studies subjects need to be applied and developed in order to improve the quality of education in the future
